Where You Will Work   

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description

Oversee patient care provided by Company EMT’s ensuring proper care.  Liaison with Base hospital for site.  Facilitate training for EMT’s to meet state standards. 

 

• Respond to on property medical emergencies and provide paramedic level Advanced Life Support Care to personnel according to protocols and safety requirements. Utilize medical equipment and procedures including but not limited to: EKG monitor, intravenous fluids, and other procedures and medications. 
• Review medical care records provided by site emergency medical responders and validate appropriate care received. Facilitate medical training to site emergency medical responders and to site for discrepancies. 
• Liaison with site base hospital to communicate medical direction and to provide critical information.
• Monitor and maintain the general condition of the unit, keep it clean and stocked for optimal call response. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of Health & Safety experience, including two (2) years experience performing duties such as actively participating and/or leading safety committees, working on H&S initiatives, participating on emergency response/behavior based safety teams, participating in MSHA/OSHA inspections

Preferred

• Current Arizona state Paramedic certification. 

Criteria/Conditions

• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

• What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $62,000-$85,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
