The Work You Will Do:

This is position is responsible for coordinating technology related projects for the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying business and process needs and solutions, developing project definition, milestones, project schedules, identifying project status and/or preparing executive status reporting. 

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • This is position is responsible for coordinating technology related projects for the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying business and process needs and solutions, developing project definition, milestones, project schedules, identifying project status and/or preparing executive status reporting. 
  • This includes process flows, issue tracking, prioritization, resolution, risk management, contract management, budgeting, technology staffing and scheduling, business user communications, vendor communications, and vendor and subcontractor management.
  • Defines and maintains the standards of process, generally related to project management, within the organization; and identifies business and process needs and solutions.
  • The PMO strives to standardize and introduce economies of repetition in the execution of projects. The PMO is the source of documentation, guidance and metrics on the practice of project management and execution. 
  • Responsible for prioritizing, managing, and controlling projects, programs, and other related work, to achieve specific strategic business objectives. 
  • Bases project management principles on accepted, industry standard methodologies such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). 
  • Manages projects and conducts initial consultations to define the scope of work for projects. Provides stakeholders with written project descriptions and estimated time frames.
  • Prepares and maintains project plans and schedules for designated projects including application systems development, system enhancements and maintenance efforts.
  • Holds project status meetings and prepares status reports.
  • Coordinates all aspects of work for the successful completion of projects.
