Job Overview

This is a temporary position to develop the skills of a student enrolled in a High School machining trade program and to monitor their development for a potential future opportunity at Komatsu Mining.

Key Job Responsibilities

Understand the operation of a manufacturing facility, with focus on the machine shop

Operate basic machine shop machines such as drill press, lathes, and milling machines

Resharpen tools utilized during machine shop processes

Operate CNC machines under supervision and the assistance of trained operators

Basic GibbsCam programming with assistance

Inspect parts utilizing different types of measuring instruments

Adhere to quality requirements and plant procedures

Maintain and clean shop equipment and areas

Perform any job duties assigned by supervisor

Qualifications/Requirements

Enrolled in a High School Technical Machinist program

A maintained minimum “C” average in High School

Commitment to learning

High standard of professional conduct, punctual attendance, safety habits and a hard work ethic
