Job Description
The candidate will provide financial support, working closely with the Administrator, for the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC). Prepares financial reports and analyses as it relates to the academic mission. This includes shared resources, sponsored projects, university accounts and certain clinical programs. Handles financial and sensitive information in a highly confidential manner both accurately and timely. Liaison support for departmental faculty.Essential Functions: Serve as lead analyst responsible for the financial activity and reporting of the SKCCC shared resources. Process chargebacks, prepare annual operating budgets and perform monthly reconciliation of all the financial statements. Analyze and report variances to prior year and budget as applicable; prepare financial/statistical reports as needed. In collaboration with the shared resource facility leaders and the SKCCC Administrator, oversee capital equipment purchases, inventory, and service maintenance contracts. Prepare and analyze annual operating budget for SKCCC cost centers, including shared resources, administration, centers of excellence. Oversee financial operations and analysis of SKCCCs screening van activities. Organizes and coordinates administrative activities in multiple locations, providing oversight to the operations and manages staff in accordance with University. Review and approve financial transactions as it relates to Concur; including requests to purchase, requests for payment, IDTs, cost transfers, P-Card, petty cash, travel, comp, Identify and assign correct charge codes for all expenditures. Ensure transactions do not exceed budgeted funds or violate policies for approved expenditures. Act as liaison with the Office of Research Administration, Research Administrative Centers of Excellence and the Office of Research Compliance for sponsored studies including human subjects, animal protocols, radiation safety and biohazard/biosafety regulations. Knows policies and procedures applicable to assigned duties. Uses sound judgment and handles matters in a highly confidential manner, timely and accurately. Demonstrates commitment to our core values of excellence and innovation, integrity and respect, teamwork and communication.EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors Degree Business or Accounting.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 5 years of financial administration experience preferably in an academic medical center. Experience in Workday, Hyperion, PeopleSoft, Concur, Excel highly preferred.Work Shift
