Job Description

In this role, you will champion and represent NBCU on all things Production Sustainability. In front of the camera & behind the scenes, greening our Productions will be your focus. Our global production teams across Film, TV, International, Sports, News, Streaming and more will all look to you to bring real world, subject matter expertise to their businesses. Your work will reduce the environmental impact of NBCU productions around the world. 
 
The Sustainability Strategy team will assist you in evaluating & piloting clean technology on production, as well as partner with studio facilities to operate more sustainably for your productions. The Sustainability Data Solutions team will support you in accurate emissions reporting. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Support TV, Film and Streaming productions in the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of the NBCU Sustainable Production Program: 
    • Plan and execute kickoff calls with new productions (Production team, Accounting, and key department heads - Construction, Locations, and Transportation) 
    • Communicate Sustainable Production Guidelines including prep and wrap deliverables, best practices checklists and EMA Green Seal applications 
    • Serve as the liaison with crew and production personnel on sustainable production issues, opportunities and progress in environmental practices 
    • Track progress of program on productions and follow up where needed 
    • Collect and assist in assembling production related carbon data for company CDP disclosure & carbon reporting as well as CSR report and industry materials 
    • Identify strong sustainability stories from productions to communicate both internally and externally 
  • Own and update our Sustainable Production Guidelines to align with our carbon neutral goals and the latest industry trends and technologies 
  • Audit productions by visiting sets, working through crew feedback, and build case studies for future pilots and leverage success stories 
  • Collaborate with Sustainability Strategy team to pilot and integrate cleantech on production and Sustainability Data Solutions team on metrics and KPIs 
  • Represent NBCUniversal on Sustainable Production Alliance working groups and other industry consortiums 
  • Support the Sustainability team, including cross-disciplinary projects, employee engagement, events, communications, production carbon data for reporting, local Green Teams, etc.

What You Have… 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as: Film/TV, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Sustainability, or equivalent professional experience 
  • 3+ years of experience in TV or Film production in a sustainability capacity 
  • Minimum 1 yea
