Job Description

Reporting into the Manager, as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA), you will be a client-facing member of the Data Platforms team. The Data Platforms Team ensures our requirements are met and maintains the functional integrity of Merkle’s solutions across multiple industries. You will coordinate between the client’s marketing and business teams and Merkle’s development and testing teams. You will work with the client’s marketing and IT teams to align goals and use cases with the necessary data availability, ingestion, transformation, and connectivity. You will advise Merkle implementation and production teams to ensure business relevance and functional accuracy of solutions.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Delivery Excellence: Experience delivering small to mid-sized project engagements.

  • Cloud Platforms: Basic knowledge of cloud platforms for purposes of delivery, interaction with clients, and our teams.

  • Platform Expertise: Proficiency in platforms used in client engagements and their connectivity within client and internal ecosystems.

  • Solutioning & Storytelling: High-level understanding of Data Platforms and related offerings with focus on client specific solution(s) 

  • Business Development: Experience identifying client challenges through regular communication to uncover opportunities to strengthen client relationships.

  • P&L Ownership: Experience identifying and guiding potential areas of efficiency.

  • People Management: Experience leading both clients and teams.

You Will:

  • Support the solution delivery process by partnering with the client and diverse teams at Merkle (Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Database and Data Warehouse Developers, Project Managers).

  • Summarize complex and contradictory information into clear, and unambiguous requirements for audiences that may not be as familiar. 

  • Take primary responsibility for written specifications, from creation to change management and solution delivery.

  • Collaborate with "Project Leads" to schedule and scope, while accounting for cost trade-offs 

  • Document requirements and acceptance criteria for Merkle solutions   

  • Perform analysis of multiple data use cases using data query tool sets   

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with data warehousing/database concepts including data query tools/languages (SQL, Python) or familiarity with cloud platform variations (i.e., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift) 

  • Knowledge of customer identity resolution concepts including data cleansing, matching and besting 

  • 3+ years of experience with marketing and customer experience use cases including analytics, business intelligence and marketing campaign execution

  • Experience with data profiling and analysis and process flow diagramming 

  • Experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle (requirements, scoping, develop, test, deploy, and maintain) 

  • Familiarity with project management/change management methodologies (I.e., Waterfall and Agile) 

  • Experience using requirements management (elicitation, scoping, documentation, approval, traceability, validation, and acceptance) 

  • Experience working with Quality Assurance essentials (QA) (planning, test case definition, capturing and presenting results) 

  • Experience with work management tools (i.e., JIRA, Workfront, or similar ticketing systems)

  • Experience presenting to internal and external partners

  • Knowledge of Customer Data Platforms and familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud, AI agents, Adobe AEP, or AI tools is advantageous

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000-$110,400.
