Endowed Chair, Tenured Professor in Accountancy

THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME, in Notre Dame, Indiana, Department of Accountancy, invites applicants for an endowed chair, tenured position in accountancy. Duties include teaching, research, and service. The department seeks applicants with a record and continuing program of distinguished research, a record of and continuing interest in effective teaching, and the resolve to engage actively in the department’s research and teaching missions. The appointment is expected to begin July 1, 2026. All candidates should have a strong commitment to scholarly research and excellence in teaching. Salary is very competitive, and research support is excellent. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2025.

Organized within the Mendoza College of Business (Ranked 7th in 2025 U.S. News & World Report best undergraduate business programs), the Department of Accountancy employs 20 tenure-track faculty and 12 non-tenure-track faculty, and maintains two degree-granting programs: a four-year undergraduate program and an MS in Accountancy program. Qualifications

Required is (i) a Ph.D. in Accounting; (ii) a strong commitment to research and teaching excellence; (iii) a professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA,  CRFAC). The department seeks applicants with a record and continuing program of distinguished research, a record of and continuing interest in effective teaching, and the resolve to engage actively in the department's research and teaching missions. We seek an applicant who is also skilled in effectively working with others.
