Junior Corporate Counsel (Hybrid)

SUMMARY
The Corporate Counsel will serve as a critical member of the Legal Team that provides legal counsel to MAHLE’s operational and service functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Negotiating and drafting commercial contracts by and between automotive suppliers and original equipment manufacturers.

Providing legal counsel to MAHLE’s operational and service functions with the goal of accomplishing MAHLE’s business objective while minimizing legal and commercial risks.

Providing legal counsel on employment matters, including matters involving FMLA, FLSA, ADA and discrimination, as well as gathering information for and drafting responses to agency complaints.

Developing best practices policies to insulate MAHLE from liability.

Assisting with preparation of pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights.

Researching legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes.

Performing other duties that may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school in the United States is required

Minimum 2 years of progressive professional legal experience is required; 5 or more is preferred

1 or more years of Law Firm experience with demonstrated experience analyzing and providing counsel on Commercial matters.

Automotive industry is strongly preferred but not required

Licensed or in-house certified to practice law in the state of Michigan is required
