Job Summary:

If you have experience supporting container technologies and/or Linux based platforms, this opportunity will challenge you. The team supports a wide variety of Linux based enterprise platforms and applications with plans to transition workloads to the cloud. We work closely with infrastructure teams, development teams and end users to provide highly available, secure, reliable, and performant solutions for critical business systems. Candidates from the Nashville area are preferred, but remote workers will be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, and test enterprise platforms.

  • Perform routine system maintenance and patch management.

  • Implement and enforce security best practices.

  • Monitor and respond to incidents and vulnerabilities.

  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline operations.

  • Work closely with developers to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain applications.

  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Required skills:

  • Experience with Linux and bash scripting.

  • Experience administering enterprise Linux applications.

  • Possess basic knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking principles, and security practices.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and desire to learn.

Desired skills (one or more):

  • Experience working in a DevOps environment.

  • Experience with Splunk, integration engines, or other enterprise Linux solutions.

  • Experience with Kubernetes container management platforms.

  • Experience administering cloud PaaS and IaaS services, especially in Azure.

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.

  • Experience with build and continuous integration tools.


TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Server Security (Novice): Has detailed knowledge of the functionality of security systems and understands how they work and interface with data, applications and systems. Able to explain and document the functionality of security requirements and how they relate to the business and an information security program.
• Server Monitoring and Tuning (Intermediate): Demonstrates knowledge of what metrics are available, understands their meaning, and can produce sophisticated reports. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering products and services using the skill without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to direct associates of lower proficiencies on where to find data. Performs statistical analysis with performance tuning data.
• Server Installation and Upgrade (Novice): Has the ability to install software on a specific platform. Demonstrates an ability to resolve problems that may occur during the installation of software. Is capable of understanding the design and purpose of the software being installed.
• Server Administration (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of the skill in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering products and services using the skill without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving technical instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
