About the role

Design, develop, and optimize scalable enterprise-level software solutions within the insurance domain, focusing on end-to-end policy administration, underwriting, and claims management. Architect microservices-based systems and ensure seamless integration with third-party insurance services such as ExamOne for paramedical exams, MIB for risk assessment and fraud prevention, Milliman for actuarial analysis, and MVR for motor vehicle records in underwriting. 

 

  • Leverage technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React and Hibernate, as well as SQL-based databases for data management and integration. 
  • Deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, while managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Git for efficient software delivery. 
  • Enforce security and compliance using OAuth 2.0, Kerberos, and Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) to maintain data integrity, ensuring adherence to insurance industry regulations such as HIPAA and SOC 2. 
  • Optimize performance through Redis caching and SQL tuning, collaborate with crossfunctional teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions, and utilize Agile methodologies with JIRA and Confluence for efficient project management. 
  • Play a critical role in driving digital transformation by integrating digital insurance platforms for new business, underwriting automation, and policy lifecycle management, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for enterprise-level insurance solutions.
  • Design and develop high-performance web applications using Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL and C#. 
  • Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs and integrate them with front-end applications. 
  • Develop dynamic web applications using Angular or React. Write and optimize complex SQL queries and manage relational databases. 
  • Ensure adherence to software development and best practices and coding standards. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement application features. 
  • Conduct unit testing and integration testing to ensure software quality. Work with version control systems including Git, Bitbucket, and other similar systems. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers. 
  • Position may work at various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States. Telecommuting permitted.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a directly related field plus Five (5) years of Related professional experience. Must have at least five (5) years of experience with the following: Proficiency in digital insurance platforms, including digital platforms for new business and underwriting and policy administration systems; Software development and integration utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs; Database management utilizing SQL-based databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server); Security and compliance utilizing 2.0 and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC); Utilizing technologies such as SQL Performance Tuning and Redis Caching for performance optimization; Utilizing JIRA and Confluence for project management and collaboration.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary range: $190,000 to $200,000 per year.
