Coding E&M Team Leader

Full Time (Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM)

Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a full-time E/M Coder Team Lead to join our team. We are looking for a new team member who is -positive, energetic, able to multi-task, and loves patient interaction. In addition, we want someone who supports our top initiative of ensuring an excellent patient experience!

The Coding E&M Team Lead assists with daily operations for the E&M and Imaging Coding Teams. They facilitate the resolution of workflow issues and coordinates staff assignments to meet workload demands as indicated by volume statistics. They serve as the primary resource for team support, trending of issues, updating of processes. Serves as a liaison to the Coding Supervisor and other departments to resolve coding issues, including coding inaccuracies and denial processing identified by the Pre/Post submission worklists. Assists team members with issues requiring immediate attention, including resolving inconsistencies in documentation, AR inquiries, escalated claim resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. In addition, other duties may be assigned.

  • Support the Coding team members in a positive manner with emphasis on providing excellent customer service to everyone
  • Ability to perform all competencies of an E&M Coder.
  • Displays excellent phone and listening skills and demonstrate the ability to resolve escalated issues
  • Communicates to Manager/Supervisor any patterns identified or in variance with standard established workflow processes
  • Understands and makes suggestions to improve functionality of the team and improve turn-around times through workflow optimization
  • Demonstrates knowledge of both Practice Management and EMR systems as they apply to daily responsibilities
  • Coordinates monthly status review of assignments with employees and supervisors.
  • Actively participates in team meetings and educational opportunities with respect to Coding related topic or trends
  • Conducts themselves in accordance with MPG Policies and Procedures including the Code of Conduct and as a role model to their team members
