Job Summary:
The Business Services Professional supports the Department of Dermatology's operational and strategic priorities through data analytics, reporting, process improvement, procurement, and project management activities. Working closely with departmental leadership, faculty, and staff, this position develops reports and dashboards, streamlines business processes, coordinates special projects, and supports operational initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the department.
This individual exercises a high level of professionalism, discretion, and independent judgment while managing sensitive information and representing the department. The Business Services Professional serves as a key resource for operational support, business analysis, and the successful execution of departmental priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as departmental procurement lead, coordinating purchasing activities and monitoring expenditures.
Participate in special projects involving operational assessments, process improvement, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
Provide project management and analytical support for department-wide priorities and leadership initiatives.
Assist with marketing and communications: newsletters, social media accounts, and external facing websites
Transform data into meaningful insights, recommendations, and visualizations for operational and strategic planning.
Lead efforts to organize and optimize departmental technology platforms, including SharePoint, shared drives, Smartsheet, websites, and other operational systems.
Develop, document, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assist with system access requests, technology onboarding, and operational technology support.
Work Location:
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
