Under limited supervision, responsible for gathering and processing multiple agenda items for the administrative support in the development of the Dallas City Council’s meeting agenda process.


Job Description
 

Overview

The Agenda Coordinator gathers, compiles, and processes multiple agenda items in the administrative support in the development of the Dallas City Council’s meeting agenda process.

Essential Functions

1 Performs a variety of administrative duties in the development, curation, preparation, and presentation of agenda items for the Dallas City Council.

2 Creates and submits drafts of agenda items for review by the City Agenda Coordinator and makes necessary revisions for obtaining final approvals; submits various resolutions and requests from multiple departments.

3 Responds to inquiries regarding the agenda item process; communicates with various entities and individuals regarding the agenda process and submission practices.

4 Ensures agenda items are mailed according to City Council calendar guidelines.

5 Curates, prepares, and creates meeting agenda packets and distributes copies to the appropriate parties.

6 Compiles, drafts, and presents various reports detailing agenda item statistics.

7 Develops and tracks lists of approved vendors and bid submissions.

8 Maintains, reviews, and updates department notebooks containing approved agenda items.

9 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

1 Knowledge of public administration and governmental environment

2 Ability to make decisions regarding policy and interpretation requiring balanced judgment

3 Ability to plan, organize and coordinate resources

4 Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and compile reports

5 Ability to draft, prepare, and create agenda items and documents.

6 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

7 Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

  • Four (4) years of experience in two (2) or more of the following areas:
    - Budgeting
    - Accounts payable/receivable/revenue collections
    - Customer Service Response/Request
    - Council/Board meeting agenda development
    - Records management
    - Program management, development, evaluation, or audit
    - Research and/or development of policies/procedures
     

EQUIVALENCIES

  • Associate degree (or higher)in any field plus two (2) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Education, or Social Science field will meet the education and experience requirements.



Salary Range

 

$25.87 - $30.04
