Security Operations Center Officer – Full Time

Rate: $21.85/HR

Our Operations Center Security performs intermediate para-professional level duties in the Security Operations Center (SOC) by receiving, processing, and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls through various communication channels, such as telephone, text, and other means, as assigned by the Chief Security Officer (CSO) or designee.

Responsibilities include handling a significant volume of phone calls, both incoming and outgoing, in support of multiple city-owned facilities. This involves logging post checks, urgent/exigent/emergency activities on daily activity summary logs. The SOC technician receives and supports various calls or incidents related to security, and based on their education, which includes a formal course and on-the-job training, they are empowered to decide when to escalate specific responses to security supervisors or first responders or Facility Management after-hours teams.

An essential aspect of the job involves actively monitoring closed-circuit television (CCTV) views in real-time, performing hourly virtual patrols of the CCTV system. This enables them to identify and address any urgent or emergency issues requiring Security Operations Center support, which is logged with relevant information regarding the building and camera view.

Position Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older 
• High School Diploma or GED Required 
• Standard computer / technology skills needed
• Must be reliable, accountable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic
• Must have a strong grasp of appropriate and professional verbal / written communication
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus
• Customer service background preferred 
• Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner
• Must be able to conduct patrols throughout shift
• Must have great attention to detail 
• Must be comfortable conducting access control duties  
• Must be comfortable with report writing
• Must have experience with CCTVs
• 2 yrs. Security experience preferred
