For the Cytiva Filtration business unit, the Senior Director will be responsible for Advanced Engineering for Device, Automation and Preventive Maintenance functions. This role is responsible for the advancement of quality of our products and productivity within our plants through improved technology and automation installments. In this role, the associate would intake feedback from manufacturing on existing pain points and provide solutions through technology advancements. In addition, this role is responsible for creating and successfully deploying a global Preventive Maintenance and Spares systems within the Filtration organization.

The Filtration business unit Advanced Manufacturing Technology groups are globally located across eight sites.

What you will do:

  • The Senior Director of Advanced Engineering of Device, Automation & Preventative Maintenance role is accountable for Filtration technologies and processes across multiple manufacturing sites including Pensacola, Florida; Hauppauge, New York; Westborough; Massachusetts; Fajardo, Puerto Rico; Portsmouth, UK; Ilfracombe, UK; Newquay, UK; and Bad Kreuznach, Germany. These eight facilities encompass both membrane and device manufacturing consisting of several different types of technologies and processes.  In this role, the candidate will be responsible to understand existing technologies, implement new strategies to improve processes consistently across all manufacturing sites and drive the implementation of change in the organizational culture and with Danaher Business Systems (DBS) focused on Lean Process Improvement.
  • Create a team that transforms how we manufacture devices in the future to become the leading filtration manufacturer in our industry. Lead team in the planning and execution of a new generation manufacturing lines or upgrade of existing infrastructure/equipment to improve safety, reliability and repeatability of equipment. 
  • Development and application of new technology to drive improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) consistently across all filtration site to achieve predictable production output.
  • Manage project cost/budget development, tracking, and reporting.
  • Lead automation globally to develop an Information Technology/Operation Technology (ITOT) infrastructure, Electronic Batch Records (EBR), upgrade strategy and standards to be applied on existing and next generation equipment.
  • Create and deploy a standard and business unit-wide preventive maintenance program including global spare inventory management to reduce downtime.
  • Application of the above in projects with total project values of > $1 million globally.
  • Work with the factories to move from Industrial manufacturing to healthcare manufacturing. Enable Best-in-Class (BIC) safety in our factories and partner to lead Process Safety Management (PSM) where applicable.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Develop engineering team that will drive improved OEE of our plants through initiatives that drive productivity, decrease downtime and improve quality that meets our Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals.
  • Apply leadership at the strategic and tactical level to hold multi-functional team members accountable for commitments to the business while using existing processes.
  • Requires manufacturing, quality improvement, maintenance, automation experience.
  • Ability to effectively apply Danaher Business Systems for continuous improvement in execution and sustainment.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
