A Day in the Life

Medtronic is looking for a dynamic, motivated Communications senior specialist to join our Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) operating unit. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact by managing internal and external communications projects, collaborating with a team dedicated to employee and executive communications, and building relationships with strategic partners across the global operating unit, the Cardiovascular Portfolio, and the broader Global Communications and Corporate Marketing function. This role reports to the Senior Director of Communications for the CRM operating unit.

Role and responsibilities:

· Drives, implements and evolves internal communications programs and initiatives in collaboration with the Cardiac Rhythm Management Operating Unit communications team.

· Directly manages communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's reputation, externally and internally, while driving employee engagement.

· Digital content and publishing expert that supports production of employee SharePoint site, executing web content design and visual asset creation, design, and static content updates. Drives site editorial calendar including identifying, sourcing, writing and editing stories, and develops/maintains the site’s analytics and performance reports.

· Manages email campaigns and related performance metrics reporting.

· Drives employee engagement through hybrid global meetings, including administering real-time meeting production schedules, producing meetings in real time, managing apps, and drafting executive pre- and post-meeting messages.

· Manages content and governance for employee videowall, including editorial calendar and implementation software.

· Advances company narratives through the news media and digital channels to reach other external audiences as defined, which may involve the strategic conceptualization and execution of creative (PR and digital/social) campaigns.

· Handles the creation and implementation of multiple forms of strategic communication activities, programs and content guided by the Medtronic Mission and overall business strategy.

· Gathers metrics and incorporates feedback on communications programs, and implements changes based on key findings that increase effectiveness.

Must Have:

· Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of Communications experience in either a corporate environment or agency, OR advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

· Strong written and interpersonal communications skills, impeccable attention to detail

· Solid project- and time-management skills, including developing/administering project timelines

· Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and shift focus adeptly

· Overall tech savvy-ness and experience with Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis in PowerPoint; experience with internal communications platforms such as TEAMs, Viva Engage, and Sharepoint; customer relationship management systems experience (Eloqua, Salesforce) also a plus.

· Reliable and collaborative work style

· Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information

· Self-starter with an appetite to take on new challenges and expand communications team capabilities

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization

· Experience in healthcare and/or medtech industry communications
