This role of Senior Product Engineer requires specialization in Mechanical Engineering.  Although a significant share of the responsibilities will relate to generating/updating documentation, a strong competency in mechanical engineering and manufacturing principles is necessary to represent the group from a mechanical design perspective.  Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work within teams to identify and clarify design needs. Work autonomously to prioritize numerous project tasks, identify creative and effective solutions, and complete design tasks according to project schedules.

  • Represent the organization in communicating detailed technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences within Medtronic and Medtronic’s suppliers and regulators.
  • Review manufacturing or field issues impacting sterile, disposable, reusable, and patient contacting products to determine root cause, disposition and recommend design or process improvements for increased reliability or reduced manufacturing scrap/cost/time.

Document and communicate the rationale, analysis and/or testing necessary for approval of the notifications.
  • Create and update product labeling graphics to accommodate new markets and changing regulations.
  • Create and implement Engineering Change Orders in Medtronic’s Product Data Management system following rigorous procedures. This includes leading the cross functional change review and approval process.
