Certified Behavior Technician I/II - Biobehavioral Outpatient Program

The behavior technician will provide direct behavior-analytic assessment and treatment in the Biobehavioral Outpatient Program within Seattle Children's Hospital Autism Center, which provides short-term, applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities who engage in severe behavior (e.g., self-injury, aggression).

Provides behavior intervention and skill development curricula to individuals and families/caregivers of individuals with developmental, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral challenges in a behavior analytic program. Interventions and curricula may be provided in individual or small group settings under the supervision of a Qualified Healthcare Professional. (Includes, but is not limited to, Behavioral Analyst (I and/or II), Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor, and/or Clinical Director.)

Collect data on programs and skills, provide oral and written updates on patient progress and assist in discharge planning activities. Work in collaboration with program leadership on quality improvement, program development and other special projects as appropriate. Provide assistance with training other team members and conducting behavioral assessments.

Certified Behavior Technician I:

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, special education, psychology, communication disorders, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
1 year of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families/caregivers.

Required Credentials
WA State Certified Behavior Technician Credential (CBT).
Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) and/or Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA) will be accepted in lieu of CBT.
Safety Care Cert (internal training) required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.

Preferred
At least 1 year of CBT/RBT experience delivering treatment to clients with severe behaviors in a high acuity setting. 

Preferred candidates will have bilingual skills.
Preferred candidates will have experience working with caregivers and families.
Preferred candidates will have experience working with diverse populations.
Preferred candidates will have experience navigating multiple hospital systems.
Preferred candidates will be credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
Preferred candidates will have 1 year experience working with neurodiverse individuals.

Certified Behavior Technician II:

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, special education, psychology, communication disorders, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
Minimum one year of experience working as a Certified Behavior Tech (CBT) or Registered Behavior Tech (RBT) in an applied behavior analytic program and two years of direct treatment services to children and families/caregivers.
Minimum two years of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families/caregivers.

Required Credentials
WA State Certified Behavior Technician Credential (CBT).
Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) and/or Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA) will be accepted in lieu of CBT.

Compensation Range

$29.16 - $48.11 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
