Engineering Manager, Search Product

As a Snap Engineering team member, you’ll help us build the future of communication.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join Snap and lead our Search Product team!

What you’ll do:

• Create and manage cross-platform (iOS, Android, Backend) product and engineering roadmaps for the core Search experience across Snapchat

• Influence key decisions and tradeoffs on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions

• Work closely with partner teams to integrate and optimize retrieval and ranking across Snapchat’s object graph

• Build out new Search experiences for millions of Snapchatters across mobile and web properties

• Collaborate with leaders and executives across Snap to deliver the highest quality for our product

• Closely collaborate with PMs in order to translate product requirements into technical designs, which are then turned into engineering roadmaps

• Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders and be a strong technical mentor

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience working with Search infrastructure and retrieval systems

• Strong product mindset

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to lead and execute large, complex technical initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience 6

• 2+ years managing teams of software engineers

• 7+ years of experience working in software engineering

• Experience with large scale distributed systems and data pipelines

• Experience with backends that power mobile apps

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience working in software engineering

• Experience with product development in the growth space

• Experience with Machine Learning ranking systems
