Responsibilities

Minimum salary for this position is $6,375.  The University of Michigan-Flint invites applications for a part-time faculty position at the Lecturer I level for the period of August 25 through December 17, 2025.  The position requires teaching a 3-credit-hour graduate course. ADM 521 Introduction to Curatorial and Exhibition Practices needs to cover an overview of exhibition types with an opportunity for hands-on experience in a regional cultural institution. The course is scheduled for Mondays from 5:30 to 8:15 PM. Instruction will be delivered in a hybrid modality with the expectation to be on campus if enrollment requires it, as well as provide opportunities for in-person experiences in regional cultural institutions. The instructor must have materials and equipment prepared to teach fully online. The budget for this position is for the fall 2025 term only.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates should minimally possess a master’s degree and experience working in with cultural institutions. Graduate work must have been completed within an accredited program. Evidence of relevant teaching experience is required. Ability to work remotely with access to appropriate equipment is essential.

Desired Qualifications

Experience as a curator at a cultural institution is preferred.

Work Schedule

Hybrid:

The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
