About the role

Director, Paxlovid Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS)

Role Summary

Pfizer is seeking a Director of Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) to lead the insights and strategy function for Paxlovid within Global Commercial Analytics (GCA). This is a newly combined role that unites two historically separate disciplines: (1) market research that illuminates current market dynamics and anticipates future evolution to inform commercial strategy, and (2) integrated secondary data analytics that translates disparate data sources into a compelling, decision-ready narrative for senior leadership.

Reporting to the IIS Therapeutic Team Lead, this person will serve as the senior insights partner to US and Global Paxlovid brand leadership, owning the end-to-end insights agenda — from primary and secondary research design through KPI development, campaign effectiveness measurement, and commercial execution excellence. The ideal candidate combines rigorous analytic depth with strong storytelling and executive presence, is comfortable operating across both qualitative/quantitative research and performance analytics, and can convert complex, cross-source data into clear, actionable recommendations that shape brand strategy and drive in-market results.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Strategic Foresight

  • Serve as strategic thought partner to US and Global Paxlovid commercial teams, framing and answering priority business questions related to market dynamics, patient/HCP behavior, and investment decisions.
  • Design and lead primary market research (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods) to build a deep understanding of the current antiviral/acute-care treatment landscape, and translate business priorities into decision-led learning agendas.
  • Anticipate future market evolution — competitive entrants, treatment paradigm shifts, access dynamics — and translate implications into forward-looking strategic recommendations that prepare the brand for what's next.
  • Lead end-to-end vendor selection and management (scope, contracting, quality oversight) and maintain a forward-looking vendor and technology ecosystem, including AI-enabled research workflows where appropriate and compliant.

Integrated Analytics & Insight Storytelling

  • Connect research and secondary analytics together — sales, claims, patient/HCP data, media, and CRM — to tell a compelling and persuasive story and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead identification of information needs and development of integrated research and data analysis plans that link insights directly to brand decisions.
  • Build and maintain an in-house knowledge base so insights accumulate, are easily retrievable, and reduce duplication of effort across the brand team.

Commercial Execution Excellence & Performance Measurement

  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of Paxlovid marketing campaigns and overall commercial execution.
  • Recommend campaign improvements and corrective actions; evaluate campaign assets to ensure an optimal customer experience grounded in deep customer insight.
  • Integrate campaign performance insights with broader analytic activities to paint a full picture of marketing execution and customer behavior, informing resource allocation decisions.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner on Long-Range Forecast (LRF) and Operating Plan development, ensuring accurate, timely performance measurement and clear articulation of results to leadership.
  • Lead dialogue to integrate insights across data science, analytics engineering, market research, and media teams, ensuring a cohesive, unified point of view for brand stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in advancing the vision for the future direction of brand activities and contribute to broader IIS team capability-building and knowledge-sharing.
  • Manage and coach junior team members and/or vendor partners, overseeing quality and consistency of deliverables.
