Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Staff Systems Engineer to join a Ground Segment team as the SEIT Lead in Morrisville, NC. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, along with a comprehensive understanding of ground system specifications, interfaces, processing platforms, virtualized compute infrastructure requirements, and Integration and Testing strategies. This role requires the ability to define, adapt, integrate, test, and deploy ground software applications and manage mission data across virtualized and distributed infrastructure.

Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:        

• Direct the execution of the overall systems engineering, integration, and test (SEIT) effort on the program.

• Plan and execute the systems engineering core functions and oversee system configuration management of the System Technical Baseline.

• Ensure horizontal and vertical integration across all engineering elements of the program, including program integration, testing, and verification and validation efforts.

• Maintain the integrity of systems engineering and integration and test processes, ensuring the timely development of core systems engineering and integration and test work products.

• Interface with key stakeholders such as the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, I&T Lead, Element Leads, and the customer.

This position will be at our site in Morrisville, North Carolina.  This position requires being on-site and does not support remote or hybrid work. 

Basic Qualifications

• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at the time of application  [US Citizenship required]

• Must be willing to submit for and favorably succeed a Counterintelligence polygraph

• Must be able to work onsite

• Must have a completed STEM degree [a degree in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics]

  • 12 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's (STEM)

  • 10 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's (STEM)

  • 8 Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD (STEM)

• Must have above minimum experience on the below:

  • Leading technical teams

  • Software systems development, software integration and test

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

  • Strong Leadership and Communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Current favorably adjudicated polygraph (CI or FSP)

• Proficiency with systems engineering tools and techniques, including model-based systems engineering tools such as Cameo, Confluence, Bitbucket, and DOORS for requirements management.

• Experience in multiple aspects of the engineering process, from proposal and requirements analysis through verification testing.
