Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Membership

Position Summary
The American Chemical Society is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Marketing Manager who will become a key member of the Product Marketing Team. The role supports the Membership Department’s annual priorities and goals. The Sr. Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and implementing marketing strategies to increase membership growth and engagement. The incumbent will work closely with the Marketing Manager, Membership, as well as the Sr. Manager, Product Marketing to position ACS membership as the premier community for Chemists world-wide.
Here’s what you will be doing
The Marketing Manager will be highly organized and an adept communicator, and will:
● Identify marketing strategies and tactics to support membership goals.
● Develop and implement a comprehensive membership acquisition and retention strategy plan to recruit new members to ACS, drive membership upgrades, and retain existing members.
● Work closely with the Audience Marketing Team to present, promote, and sell membership based on specific audience segments.
● Assesses existing product benefits and member data on an ongoing basis, and make recommendations for benefits relevant to specific membership categories.
● Work with Membership to establish KPIs, track and analyze performance using marketing data, report on results, and make data-driven recommendations for current and future marketing campaigns.
● Collaborate with colleagues across the Membership, Marketing and Communications division to achieve membership growth targets.
● Nurture prospective member pipeline to target for growth opportunities.
● Manage multiple campaigns at a time and ensure that deadlines are being met.
● Manage and update marketing project timelines and marketing plans.
● Create and update tracking codes for marketing projects.
● Assist with presentations by gathering all relevant materials and resources.
● Position is responsible for assisting with managing the marketing budget associated with this effort.
● Other administrative marketing duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or related fields and 5 years of related experience. Project management experience preferred. Must have knowledge of current and emerging marketing practices and principles. Ability to organize and carry out integrated marketing plans. Excellent writing and communication skills, ability to work within a team environment, and attention to detail required.
Experience with project management tools; experience with Eloqua email/marketing automation platform or similar system, Google and/or Adobe CRM and Analytics, PowerPoint/multi-media presentation development skills; experience using data and metrics to drive improvements and report on outcomes.
Location
This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, three days per week. ACS employees are in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday with the third in-office day scheduled in consultation with the manager. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other two days of the week from a location of their choice. New employees are immediately eligible for this hybrid work arrangement. ACS offers relocation assistance, if applicable.
