Overview
As a Senior Communications Specialist, Executive & Enterprise Communications you’ll play a key role in supporting strategic communications across the enterprise, including CEO and C-suite support. You’ll also collaborate with the broader communications function to ensure consistency and impact across channels and audiences through effective content strategies and editorial management.
What You Will Do
- Prepare executive presentations, speeches, talking points, social media posts and other materials for internal and external audiences on behalf of Caterpillar’s executive office.
- Support the planning and execution of employee and leader meetings, events and campaigns.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior communications management and work with executives on communications, developing and executing communication plans for a variety of local and global initiatives.
- Lead enterprise editorial processes and manage enterprise content calendar.
- Drive process excellence and methods to best use resources, analytics and technology to meet enterprise communications goals.
- Ensure all communications plans and tactics are consistent with the company strategy and reflect the Caterpillar and Cat® brands.
- Embrace technology and innovation to reach and engage employees in new and creative ways.

What You Will Have
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing and/or equivalent experience. 5+ years in corporate or agency roles serving corporate clients is preferred.
- Writing and Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and convey ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Executive Presence: Ability to confidentially support C-suite leaders with strong judgement and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Planning (Tactical and Strategic): Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short-term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Organizational Communications: Knowledge of techniques and media for executive and organizational communication; ability to use relevant tools to communicate information about the organization internally and externally.
- Interpersonal Relationships & Influencing: Ability to influence without authority and work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner, within and outside own organization.
- Initiative: Being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges; ability to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.
- Problem-solving: Focus on thinking differently to drive communications outcomes in a changing business environment.

- The primary location for this position is Irving, TX
- Domestic relocation assistance is available

- This role requires the candidate to be on-site Monday through Friday
- Travel will be approximately 5%
