Overview
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Director of Radiological Services and the Managers of Radiological Engineering, Radiological Operations and Training, Radiation Health and Dosimetry, and Radiological Emergency Planning. This team provides support and oversight for the planning and execution of nuclear work in the Electric Boat Groton Shipyard and the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department at SUBASE New London.
Staff Assistant job functions include typing and distribution of correspondence, memos, business letters, forms, filing, managing and printing agendas, managing historical record retention, updating organizational charts, performing manual updates, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, maintenance of performance metrics and commitments, preparing shipyard visit requests and arranging travel, submitting expense reports, submitting Information Technology (IT) service requests and Communications Work Orders (CWO), scheduling material moves, managing the organization’s seating charts and phones and computer and printer services, arranging and distributing service awards, submitting facility trouble tickets and requests, and coordinating the Directorate’s business catering needs.
The candidate will qualify and support the Radiological Emergency Response Organization (RERO).
The candidate will serve as an Administrator for RAD Commitments in the Management Commitment Database and obtain access to initiate and close DPT commitments.
The candidate will serve as a Classified Repository Custodian.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of five years administrative experience
- Minimum of three years administrative experience supporting management
- Minimum of five years of experience using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Preferred:
- Associates Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Paralegal, programmatic, or engineering administrative experience
- Minimum of eight years of administrative experience
Skills
Required:
- This position requires excellent communication with all levels of Electric Boat Management, as well as communication with the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, the Naval Reactors Representatives Office, the Reactor Plant Contractors Office, NAVSEA, and the Navy.
- The ability to work as a member of a team.
- Capable of supporting Field and Office work.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Lotus Notes
- Familiarity with Procedure Gateway
- Familiarity with Staples and Granger on-line ordering
- Proficiency in Concur for travel bookings and expenses
- Proficiency in pdf document editing and consolidation
