About the role

Job Description

Assist in leading and directing staff and overseeing daily meal production in a large university dining center under the guidance of the Executive Chef and/or Chef de Cuisine, as well as other management personnel. Ensure recipes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, creativity, presentation, and variety. Responsibilities include aiding in menu execution, maintaining customer relations, upholding safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring equipment maintenance. Additionally, contribute to the training and development of employees.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of kitchen and food service operations & basic math.
• Leadership of staff, schedule production, food shipping and receiving guidelines, recipe management, preparation, kitchen and shop setup, merchandising, presentation, & maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and public.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks & serve high volume/quality in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office & automated food inventory systems.
• ServSafe certification, HACCP certification.
