<p><strong>Role Overview:</strong></p>
<p>We are going through an exciting period of change and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SRE Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering sub-chapter. You will work as part of our exciting greenfield tech hub covering all facets of technology within Kingfisher.</p>
<p>You will be responsible for the enablement for our products whilst working closely to mentor and enable junior members of the team. Being among the first feet on the ground, this is an opportunity to play a key role in the SRE sub-chapter, applying your unique blend of skills and experience to help influence the direction of site reliability engineering at Kingfisher.</p>

<h2>What's the job?</h2>
<p><strong>Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Feel empowered and autonomous to provide technical thought leadership</li>
<li>Can own your work end-to-end from inception, to writing acceptance criteria, to production ready. Taking an MVP first approach whilst adhering to best practice where possible and ensuring all aspects of quality are taken into consideration</li>
<li>Improving the observability of Kingfisher’s products with a customer focused lens to increase the confidence in the ability to pinpoint and resolve issues</li>
<li>Work with Product squads as an embedded SRE to drive automation and reduce toil</li>
<li>Work closely with Incident Management and Product squads to ensure appropriate root cause analysis is performed with actionable outcomes</li>
<li>Provide SRE representation in blameless post-mortems following P1/P2 incidents and ensure outcomes are followed through to resolution</li>
<li>Write clear and descriptive technical documentation with the end-user in mind</li>
<li>Willing to participate in an on-call rota providing SRE support during Major Incident</li>
<li>Work with Product squads to establish SLI’s / SLO’s and participate in monthly reviews</li>
<li>Collaborate with the wider technology teams in a DevOps fashion to help to bridge the gap with product squads (Security, APM, Networks, etc.)</li>
<li>Creation and ownership of common standards and practices</li>
</ul>
<h2>What you'll bring</h2>
<p><strong>Required Skills & Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A strong technical background to be able to effectively provide technical thought leadership</li>
<li>Effective communication skills to be able to productively participate in discussion, understand customer’s requirements and clearly articulate yourself when presenting solutions</li>
<li>Understanding of SRE principles</li>
<li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>A willingness to learn and continuously improve by working with new tools and technologies</li>
<li>CI/CD Platforms – GitLab (preferred), GitHub Actions, Jenkins etc</li>
<li>Any one major cloud - AWS, GCP, Azure</li>
<li>DevOps mindset</li>
<li>Familiarity with modern tooling – e.g. Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Chart, Service Mesh, etc.</li>
<li>Scripting Languages – e.g. Javascript, Typescript, Bash, Python, Groovy</li>
<li>Programming Languages – e.g. Java, NodeJS, Go</li>
<li>Enterprise Observability Tools – e.g. Datadog or Dynatrace (preferred), Grafana, etc.</li>
<li>Take a test-driven development approach when building capabilities</li>
<li>Understanding of Agile development methodologies and events</li>
