Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to lead research and development of advanced security solutions with a focus on security engineering, system design, and embedded technologies. This role is critical to building next-generation secure platforms and solutions and preparing Comcast systems for future challenges, including post-quantum cryptography (PQC). The ideal candidate will have strong security engineering and embedded programming expertise, research experience, and understanding of cryptographic principles.This position emphasizes security engineering, system architecture, and hardware/software integration, while leveraging cybersecurity and privacy knowledge to build robust security solutions. The candidate will work on building proof-of-concept (POC) models, conducting research, and driving innovation in secure system design.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Develop and integrate open-source security solutions with existing systems.
Research and prototype new cybersecurity and privacy technologies, including cryptographic mechanisms.
Develop and optimize embedded software solutions in languages such as C/C++ and Python.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to validate findings, publish research, and contribute to open-source tools.
Build proof-of-concept models to validate security designs and performance in real-world environments.
Stay current with evolving standards in cryptography (e.g., TLS 1.3, post-quantum crypto) and network security.
Collaborate with software, hardware, and device teams to ensure seamless integration of security features into embedded, software, and hardware platforms.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field with 4+ years of professional experience OR equivalent.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity and privacy engineering principles and network protocols (e.g., TLS, IPsec, DNSsec).
Proficiency in development and engineering skills using languages such as Python and C.
Familiarity with cryptographic algorithms (RSA, ECC, AES) and digital signatures.
Ability to learn and work independently, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field.
Experience with or familiarity with cryptography and post-quantum cryptography.
