Where You Will Work
Our rod and refining plant in El Paso, Texas, is a key contributor to our ranking as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of continuous cast copper rod – a main material used in the manufacturing of wire and cable products. The refinery has the potential to operate at an annual production capacity of about 900 million pounds of copper cathode, which is sufficient to refine all the copper anode we produce at our Miami operations in Arizona. The refinery also produces nickel carbonate, copper telluride and autoclaved slimes material containing gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
The beautiful city of El Paso features three universities, many community colleges and numerous schools. Some popular attractions include the International Museum of Art, National Border Patrol Museum and Franklin Mountain State Park. What You Will Do
- Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules.
- Provide Operations input for production and maintenance planning.
- Ensure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulations.
- Inspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained.
- Coordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including but not limited to Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales
- Directly supervise first-line or shift Supervisors.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
- Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
- Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
- Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.
- Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000 - $145,000/annually. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
