Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will serve as a key member of the patient care team in an ambulatory setting. This position will work closely with providers across multiple specialties as well as with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture of Service-Oriented, Trust, Empathy, Safety, Inclusion, and Communication.
Job Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to rooms.
- Initial history, medical review, and screening of patients.
- Data entry of intake information and meaningful use measures in EPIC.
- Set up examination/consultation/procedure rooms; stock and clean rooms.
- Assist physicians with office-based procedures.
- Clean and sterilize scopes and other instruments.
- Perform general office duties such as answering phones, obtaining precertification for testing, word processing and verification of patient information in EPIC.
- Maintain an inventory of required medical supplies and inform the Office Manager of any items that need to be ordered.
- Assist patients, including helping handicapped patients, assisting ambulance staff with patients on/off stretches, patients in preparation for procedures, etc.
- Assist in the event of an emergency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalency and graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Associates Degree or additional academic coursework is preferred.
- CMA or equivalency required.
- Current BCLS/AED certification required.
- Basic proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Email systems, etc.
- Possess the ability to work independently, be proactive and anticipate clinician/patient needs.
- Previous medical assisting experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
- Preferred multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting preferred.
- Prior EMR/EPIC experience preferred.
Hourly Rate Ranges: $21.00 - $33.17
Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
