We are seeking a Warehouse Associate/Material Handler to support day-to-day warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. This is an hourly position responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials and products within the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment. Experience with Jira and SAP is a plus and will be beneficial for streamlining processes.
As a Warehouse Associate/Material Handler, you will ensure the accurate handling of materials, maintain proper inventory, and contribute to efficient warehouse operations to meet production and shipment deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling and Inventory Management: Safely move, store, and organize materials and products within the warehouse. Ensure items are properly labeled, tracked, and stored in designated locations.
- Receiving and Inspecting Shipments: Receive incoming shipments, verify that products match purchase orders or packing slips, and inspect for any damage or discrepancies. Report any issues to the supervisor and assist in returns when necessary.
- Order Picking and Packing: Pick products and materials according to order requirements, ensuring accuracy. Properly pack items for shipment to ensure they are secure and meet quality standards.
- Shipping and Distribution: Prepare and load outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and correct documentation. Coordinate with shipping carriers to arrange deliveries.
- Inventory Control: Assist with regular inventory counts and monitor stock levels to ensure accuracy. Report discrepancies and assist with stock audits when necessary.
- Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and products safely and efficiently. Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in compliance with safety guidelines.
- Warehouse Organization and Cleanliness: Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment by adhering to housekeeping standards and safety protocols. Ensure aisles and storage areas are clear and free from hazards.
- Use of Warehouse Systems: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), including SAP, for inventory tracking, order management, and updating records. Experience with Jira to track tasks and communicate within the team is a plus.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure the warehouse environment is compliant with safety standards. Report any safety hazards immediately and assist in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of warehouse activities. Assist with other tasks as needed to support warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, material handling, or logistics environment preferred.
- Forklift certification or experience required.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Experience with Jira for task tracking or project management is a plus.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
- Proficiency in using warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Certifications: Forklift certification required (on-the-job training may be provided if needed).
