A Day in the Life

As Senior BP Improvement Program Manager, you will join the Technical Enablement Center of Excellence (TE CoE) leading complex harmonization programs as we progress towards our Service & Repair IT Systems Harmonization goals. This team consists of business process improvement resources, program managers, architects, and technical product owners with a depth of expertise in systems including SAP, ServiceMax, ServiceNow, and Salesforce.com across Americas, Europe, Greater China, and Asia. The team is responsible for the systems and tools, data insights & master data, and related program delivery for Service & Repair. Due to the global nature of the work and the geographic spread of the team, there are instances where meetings need to occur out of regular hours. Flexibility to work an adjusted schedule to meet business needs is critical to success in this position.

This role is pivotal in advancing our Global Service & Repair strategy by harmonizing IT systems to unify all global service delivery users within a single IT ecosystem. In this role, you will oversee the entire program, managing Program & Project Managers, across Field, Depot, and Contact Center workstreams. Additionally, you will execute executive-level communication plans to ensure senior leadership remains informed and engaged through various governance mechanisms including a program steering committee. A strong financial acumen is essential for this role. This role is expected to understand and have prior experience working with or performing as an Agile Product Owner and will maintain a cohesive and singular vision regarding the product. This role is accountable for maximizing the value of the product suite in close collaboration with program/product teams, stakeholders, and the customers.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Leverage advanced project and program management expertise to spearhead multiple complex, long-term, and high-impact initiatives that are highly visible within the organization.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive IT & service projects and programs focused on systems development and harmonization.
  • Mentor team members in Agile project and program management practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and peer mentorship within the team.
  • Implement standardized processes across TE to ensure consistency and rigor in program & project execution.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program-level / product roadmap. Ensure project-level schedules are developed and maintained consistent with the roadmap.
  • Communicate project statuses, issues, and successes effectively to team members, stakeholders, and upper management, ensuring transparency, visibility and alignment to program priorities, sprint objectives, and commitments.
  • Consistently achieve milestones and deadlines while working independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Oversee backlog management to assess value, develop use cases, and order backlog items to ensure work is prioritized to focus on items with maximum value and aligned with vision, strategy, and business objectives.
  • Utilize broad business acumen, including financial modeling and ROI analysis, to support decision-making and project outcomes.
  • Keep abreast with Program-Project-Product Management/Agile/Scrum best practices and latest trends
  • Gain a deep understanding of Medtronic's Service strategies and integrate this knowledge with general business insights to drive growth objectives.
  • Uphold quality standards in every project and daily activities, ensuring excellence in execution.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to work with global partners which may result in adjusted work schedule
  • Fluent English
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally around 20%
