You will be joining a high-performing and motivated Business & Technology team that works alongside Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Quantitative Strategists, and other members of the Institutional Investment Management division. You will also have direct exposure with a dedicated team of technologists with a variety of skill-sets developing & managing our proprietary front-office research platforms. The job will afford the opportunity to work within the business and interact closely with business partners to gain insight into our proprietary research, analytics & portfolio management processes that largely represent our competitive advantage.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Apply your technology skills to design, develop, and support scalable end-to-end systems that automatically ingest, curate, model, and store data for access by stakeholders.

  • Develop APIs to support proprietary web-based applications.

  • Work directly with various internal (platform teams, software developers, quant/research analysts) and external partners (vendors) on new data initiatives and design data feeds/APIs for data exchanges between systems.

  • Contribute toward expanding access to data in the data lake through tools including Python, R, and Dremio.

  • Assist in the migration of our research platform from Linux VMs to containers and Kubernetes.

  • Contribute to the reliability and scalability of our systems, reducing support requirements through automation, unit testing, integration testing, and development of robust logging and monitoring.

  • Develop monitoring and logging systems for our production container resources using Prometheus and Grafana.

  • Evaluate dbt as an addition to our technology stack, present the findings to the Business & Technology Team, develop, and execute a plan for implementation.

  • Contribute to support of Linux VMs, while encouraging further adoption of docker and serverless cloud- based compute.

  • Wrangle alternative and unstructured data to facilitate extraction of value and insights.

  • Champion the reduction of any duplication, redundancy, and silos in our data infrastructure.

  • Learn and evaluate new technologies to improve our data infrastructure and increase its scalability.

  • Design, coordinate, and execute pilots or proof of concepts to evaluate new technologies.

  • Leverage best practices by avoiding duplicate copies of data, using source control, following security protocols, and maintaining documentation.

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure high reliability, and secure performant systems.

  • Assist in other projects for Investment Management as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5 to 10 years of programming or data engineering experience.

  • .NET and C# and REST

  • Skilled in developing RESTful APIs

  • Programming skills in SQ
