Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Required Qualifications

  • at least 18 years old
  • basic mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • basic knowledge of hand tools and tool use
  • willingness and ability to advance
  • willingness to complete a mechanical aptitude test (on or before hire date)
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • must have an excellent attendance and punctuality record
  • ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
  • knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, PLC and electronic systems
  • knowledge of electrical theory including AC & DC circuits, 3 Phase power, and motor controls knowledge
  • ability to identify trends and predict component failures, using historical equipment data to solve equipment problems
  • must be able to replace or rebuild any component on a piece of equipment within the realm of information available
  • ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, layouts and drawings.
  • ability to read measuring tools such as, slide calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
  • ability to use Digital Multi Meter
  • knowledgeable in OSHA required regulations such as Lock/Out-Tag/Out preferred
  • computer literate, ability to use computer systems to maintain equipment repair and maintenance histories, etc.
  • must have excellent safety work habits
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • self-motivated individual
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • ability to work independently and productively
  • good human relation skills (the ability to work well with others and to be a team player in a positive manner)
