A Technical Sales Representative position has become available in the IWT Division within the Mining Industry, based in the North West area of Rustenburg / Brits.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Chemistry/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant technical sales experience with relevant tertiary chemical qualification, or 10 years relevant experience.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Account Management - Ensure product stewardship of a specific account/accounts by conducting all activities in accordance with “The Buckman Way”;
- Technical Services - Ensure existing applications and equipment are maintained and technical services are performed to ensure optimal performance;
- SHERQ Management - Maintain and improve SHERQ performance to deliver targeted sales at the lowest possible risk to the company.
- Basic daily duties will include (but will not be limited to) the following;
- Ensure sustainability and growth of a specific account/accounts by conducting the following activities in accordance with “The Buckman Way”;
- developing a specific, written service plan and developmental action plan for each application;
- attending area / customer weekly or fortnightly planning / safety meetings;
- allocating weekly planning time to ensure Account activities are prioritized and executing planned activities assigned at area planning meetings;
- establishing relationships at appropriate levels based on faith and trust;
- obtaining and using knowledge of customers' systems to ensure Buckman programmes function optimally;
- continually look for other business opportunities within the current Account;
- problem-solving of customer, system and product issues;
- assisting in conducting laboratory trials to optimize current business;
- executing Service Plans by ensuring daily work is executed and providing customer-driven service as necessary;
- effectively resolving customer complaints assigned for resolution;
- preparation of customer service reports as directed and submitted in timely manner;
- Generates and maintains up-to-date process data, system diagrams, and customer organizational charts;
- Creating a written plan containing requirements and measurements with the customer (Transition Workshop, Service Plan, Evaluation Plan or formal letter);
- Application for HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) acceptance and sign-off (this may take up to 2 hours per HIRA)
- Housekeeping in our chemical storage area as well as our analyses container
The successful candidate will be a people-person, practically orientated, able to handle pressure, a problem solver and a team member who is self-motivated. They must be able to communicate at all level
