The Hershey Company Memphis plant is a Non-Union plant producing products such as Ice Breakers, Breath Savers, and Good & Plenty, in a high-speed complex environment.

Shifts:
- We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
- Current need is on first shift. Hours will likely be 5:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs.
- Regular schedule is 8-hour shifts, Mandatory overtime could be weekly (scheduled for up to 12 hours/day, Monday through Sunday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts).
Summary:
The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. The Planner establishes all routine, preventive, predictive maintenance activities associated with any new or relocated assets coming into the facility. The Planner establishes the initial and revised spare parts inventory for all plant assets.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and the liaison between Production and Maintenance, the Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordination of all plannable maintenance work performed on the plant site. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance related matter.
The planning and scheduling function is the hub from which all plannable maintenance activity is coordinated. It is expected the Planner/Scheduler will utilize SAP-PM and the SAP-PM Multi-Resource-Scheduling Module. It is the process of describing a job in terms of how it is to be performed and what resources and materials will be required. It involves a broad spectrum of technical activity utilizing not only computer software programs but also understanding of complex electrical/mechanical applications.
The Planner/Scheduler must be technically talented and know the job well enough to describe what is to be accomplished, identify what and where to procure materials and can estimate how many labor hours will be required. If the Planner doesn't know requirements, the assigned crew will not know the expectation.
Responsibilities:
Relationship Management:
Principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance and Production and other supported departments. In this capacity, the Planner/Scheduler ensures that all internal customers of Maintenance receive timely, efficient and quality service, taking a continuing interest in internal customer needs. The Planner is able to help Production balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance. Keeps the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors properly informed of abnormal or critical situations. The planner is the resource in maintenance tools and techniques, he or she will develop, facilitate and train plant personnel on the maintenance management processes.
Planning/Scheduling:
Initiates, Reviews and Manages work requests. Analyzes work requirements and determines materials, equipment, and labor required (such as blueprints, tools, parts, and trades skill requirements) to complete the work effectively and efficiently. The maintenance planner is the logistics person. He or she has the responsibility for removing nonproductive or reactive time from the maintenance work force. The Planner ensures that all planned maintenance work is ready to be performed with no delays. This includes the labor requirements for the execution of the work and ensuring all parts and specialty tools are kitted and available as needed.
The planner stays abreast of production planning changes and modifies the maintenance schedule accordingly. The Planner establishes a periodic work plan and reviews the plan with the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager for modification and approval.
