The R&D Patient Engagement Country Leads are responsible for ensuring integrated patient engagement is implemented in key countries to drive the differentiation, acceleration, awareness and access of our clinical trials. Working closely with the Health Value Translation Leads, they support the creation of the Patient Disease Strategy (PDS) by facilitating local integration of patient insights & perspectives with a focus on forward translation of insights (eg, to Global Project Teams (GPT), study teams) and back translation (eg, global insights integrated at local levels) into tangible local strategies that ultimately lead to increasing the value of the pipeline from the perspective of local stakeholders. This position extends beyond the classical patient insights generation and clinical trial operations activities by having direct accountability for aligning the PDS at the local level.
This position is also responsible for making sure local stakeholders are aligned with the PDS and well anticipated by relevant local stakeholders, notably the engagement strategy with forward looking implications related to Policy, Regulatory Policy, Clin Ops, Payer value. Verticalization of local patient pathways and other patient relevant business insights, to feed the PDS, Clinical Development Plan (CDP), Integrated Patient Journey (IPJ) and clinical trial designs is core to ensuring the local country perspectives are embedded early and effectively.

Main Responsibilities:
Patient Advocacy Collaborations: Lead the development and oversight of local Patient Advocacy Group (PAG) partnerships aligned with global R&D strategy across multiple therapeutic areas, ensuring mutual benefit and positive customer experience (PQS).
Clinical Trial Acceleration: Establish strategic opportunities with Clinical Study Unit (CSU) colleagues to accelerate clinical trials through Patient Experience Data (PED), optimized study design, and improved recruitment timelines.
Data & Evidence Integration: Perform patient data/PDS gap analysis, integrate local Real-World Evidence (RWE), and ensure the TVP/TPP/iEGP reflect local patient priorities and insights.
Digital & Innovation Leadership: Leverage digital tools and data opportunities within PAGs to drive efficiencies, accelerate deliverables, and identify patient-centric clinical trial innovations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Public Affairs, Medical Affairs, HVT, COA teams, and Ethics & Business Integrity to align strategies, stay current on regulations, and deliver internal/external publications and webinars.
Local Insights & Outcomes: Translate local patient insights into endpoint and outcomes measurement selection, acting as the main point of contact for meaningful country-specific data.
Ecosystem Leadership: Assume leadership in evolving Integrated Patient Engagement (IPE) objectives, participating in external initiatives (PFDD, IMI, TransCelerate, PALADIN) to shape the broader R&D patient-centricity ecosystem.
About you
Basic Qualifications:
PharmD or equivalent advanced degree in a related field.
Relevant education, or experience, in patient focused drug development with clinical operations as a bonus. Min 2 years’ experience working in patient centricity, public affairs, or advocacy organization is preferable.
At least 2 years of work experience/training experience in pharma industry.
Deep knowledge of Northamerican healthcare system.
