The Expert Services Project Lead I Position 
Sunnova Energy is searching for the position of Project Lead I within our Expert Services Department. This position will be primarily responsible for managing the installation and servicing of internal and external projects acquired by Expert Services from start to completion. The candidate will be required to develop successful working relations with cross-functional areas internally as well as with external partners to ensure quality completion of customer installations. The individual will be a point of contact for our participating dealer network.

Project Lead I Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of dealer accounts and remotely manages all phases of Sunnova project completion.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors, external partners, and internal departments to ensure all applications, designs, and required documents are properly filled and submitted to state and local municipal entities.
  • Coordinate with homeowners, installers, and vendors to schedule project installations and inspections.
  • Communicate with customers, external partners, and vendors to diffuse concerns with installations that have been in the process over expected timeline.
  • Implements industry best practices to successfully manage results through the improvement of channel partner performances; challenges partners to exceed agreed-upon business targets.
  • Review and process invoices from external partners and vendors for the completion of installation milestones.
  • Generates weekly program reports and ad hoc reports as defined by management; reports metrics to ensure project deadlines and company goals are achieved.
  • Manages and updates department documents to ensure the information is recorded and stored properly within Sunnova’s systems to ensure high quality for our internal and external teams. 
  • The lead is responsible for performing other duties as assigned.
  • The position requires excellent communication skills, a “customer first” attitude, and someone who is a true team player. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 1+ years of professional experience in solar system installation operations, project management, and related roles
  • 2+ years of routine use of Excel for data extraction, analysis, and graphic communication of insights required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to create relationships with outside partners to effectively influence behavior required
  • Very strong organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills required
  • Ability to adapt and work in an open, fast-paced, collaborative environment both in-office and remotely required
  • Team player who behaves ethically, with the highest degree of integrity 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-3 years experience in residential solar projects, field operations, and project management.
  • Experience in Smartsheet 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Salesforce software experience or working knowledge required
  • Proven use of analytical skills with an understanding of business concepts i.e., forecasting performance metrics, SLAs
  • Ability to make insightful and relevant recommendations based on findings from data analytics required 

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid-office Environment
  • Ability to travel to partners across the nation. 

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods of time working at computer workstation
