Job Summary

Plans, develops, and administers the policies and procedures of Employee Health and coordinates and facilitates wellness activities for Prisma Health team members. Develops budget and manage resources to meet the mission and goals of Prisma Health. Administers the process of health care to workers and volunteers that is directed toward the promotion, protection, and restoration of health within the context of a safe and helpful environment. Responsible for meeting regulatory requirements of licensing and accrediting agencies. Oversees the Workers' Compensation program for the hospital system.

Essential Functions

  • Designs, develops and implements new programs as required by law, accrediting bodies, licensing agencies and/or to promote healthy lifestyles and improve employee well-being by staying up to date with the latest regulations and best practices.

  • Collaborates with internal departments (e.g. Infection Prevention, Safety, HR, EAP) as necessary. 

  • Supervises delivery of post-offer and periodic physical examination, drug screening program and other health-related programs such as health screenings and wellness coaching. 

  • Ensures maintenance of medical records.

  • Selects, trains, orients, coaches and assigns department staff.  Develops standards of performance and evaluates performance ongoing.

  • Develops and maintains department goals, policies and procedures in conjunction with the mission and goals of Prisma Health.

  • Coordinates and facilitates the distribution of wellness materials and resources and wellness workshops, seminars, and events on topics such as stress management, nutrition, fitness, and mental health.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through data analysis and feedback, making recommendations for improvement as needed.

  • Manages Worker' Compensation Program.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a supervisor job which may have direct supervision of team members which may include hire/termination authority, disciplinary authority, and performance management responsibilities. May have budget input or responsibilities. Job is not considered a member of management staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Associate's Degree in Nursing

  • Experience - Five (5) years Infection Control and/or Occupational Health. One (1) year management experience.

In Lieu Of

  • In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, the following combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered an equivalent substitution: Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of experience.

  • RN - REGISTERED NURSE

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)

  • Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database, data entry)
