Senior Electrical Integration Engineer

Zoox is seeking a Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer to join our Vehicle System Integration engineering team. The Zoox Vehicle EE Architecture Team develops power distribution, network topologies, system infrastructure and system designs to create optimal autonomous robotaxi. In this role you will help develop electrical and electronic system architecture designs, best practices, and validation procedures for Zoox's ground-up autonomous vehicles. You will work with engineering leaders from various domains to capture their needs for low-voltage load and system management, and integrate these designs into the robotaxi. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, as you'll work with vehicle integration, firmware, and vehicle component development teams to deliver solutions. 
We are looking for an engineer that is passionate about developing a ground breaking Robotaxi, has a strong system engineering background, has extensive vehicle network design experience, has system problem-solving skills, and has a commitment to deliver on time.

In this role, you will:

• You will own the low-voltage system power consumption needs and best practices and integrate these needs into the robotaxi. You will develop best practices by investigating and validating electronics hardware technology trends
• You will work with system engineers and component owners in defining partial networks to achieve the entire vehicle consumption target
• You will work closely with EE system teams to develop and support ECU execution documents to enable sourcing
• You will participate in tech reviews to evaluate potential suppliers and ensure proper application of Zoox hardware standards
• You will execute component performance analysis to maintain the total low-voltage system power needs

Qualifications

• BS or MS in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
• At least 10 years of experience in vehicle electrical architectures, ECU HW base definitions, and vehicle power states functionality
• At least 3 years of experience implementing CAN networks and/or automotive Ethernet applications 

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficient in ISO 26262 and its architectural enablers
• Experience in CAN FD and automotive physical layer implementation

CompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $167,000 to $250,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position. Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
