Within our IT Infrastructure department, we're looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to coordinate strategic transversal programs that bridge infrastructure, network, and security domains and enable Elia Group’s digital transformation.

 

You will act as a key representative of IT, ensuring that planning, alignment, and delivery are coherent across domains and entities. You will steer and deliver complex, multi-disciplinary programs, keeping all IT domains aligned with business needs and driving effective teamwork and transparency. Your work enables Elia Group’s successful digital transformation.

 

Your role will involve:

• Lead transversal programs: Oversee delivery of IT programs affecting multiple domains or entities. Turn strategic goals into actionable plans and milestones. Coordinate between technical, architecture, product, and business teams. Manage interdependencies, risks, and drive program progress.
• Plan, monitor, and report: Develop and maintain integrated program plans. Track progress, costs, and resources to ensure on-time and transparent delivery. Prepare concise reports and dashboards for management. Facilitate decision-making with risk analysis and recommendations.
• Ensure alignment and governance: Represent IT in steering committees and cross-functional meetings. Maintain compliance with architecture, security, and governance standards. Align solutions with business needs and operational requirements. Help improve program governance processes.
• Drive collaboration and engagement: Promote collaboration among IT, OT, and business teams. Encourage constructive problem-solving and shared ownership. Support transparent communication and continuous improvement. Enable effective change management and stakeholder engagement.

 

Project Examples:

• Virtualized and digital substations: You will help coordinate the IT contribution to Elia’s next-generation substations — where physical equipment is being replaced by virtualized and digital systems.
• Sovereign cloud implementation: You may also manage transversal activities related to the deployment of Elia’s Belgian sovereign cloud zone, a key initiative to strengthen digital sovereignty and data protection.

 

These are representative examples of the kind of strategic and cross-functional programs you will help deliver. Future assignments may also involve modernization of transversal IT services, integration of new technologies, or infrastructure lifecycle programs across entities

Your Profile

 

• Master’s degree in information technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in IT project or program management within complex and multi-stakeholder environments.
• Proven experience in coordinating transversal or cross-functional programs involving several IT domains (infrastructure, applications, data, security, architecture).
• Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, including architecture, security, compliance, and change management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, monitor, and report on large-scale technical programs, ensuring alignment between IT and business priorities.
• Experience working in hybrid environments combining waterfall and agile/product delivery models.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at different organizational levels (technical experts, managers, executives).
• Strong facilitation skills and proven ability to create collaboration between diverse teams and entities (local and group level).
• Analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate risks, structure complex topics, and propose clear decisions or mitigation actions.
• Solid understanding of financial and resource management aspects in large IT programs (budget, capacity, sourcing).
• Experience in change management and adoption of new processes or technologies is a plus.
