Location: flexible - you can work from our Edinburgh, Cambridge or Aylesbury offices or be home based (with some face to face meetings).
Esri UK are the distributors of Esri’s world leading GIS software (ArcGIS) in the UK. The Data Operations team are responsible for supporting the sale and delivery of data products to help drive customer success.
You’ll be part of an innovative team that works together to deliver data to our customers. The work involves understanding complex data structures, solving problems, and making sure the data we provide supports customer success. You’ll work with both Esri UK and third-party data products including data from Ordnance Survey and Office for National Statistics, becoming the go to person for one or more of these. You’ll also collaborate with teams across the business to help support and grow our data offering.

As a GIS Data Consultant your key responsibilities will include:
• Data Delivery – processing and QA data deliveries
• Data Products – maintaining our Maps+ and NDS data products
• Process Improvements – identifying and developing automated workflows to improve efficiency and consistency
• Subject Matter Expertise – providing guidance on application of data to solve customer problems
• Sales Support for 3rd Party Data – providing specialist technical and commercial knowledge
This would be a great career move if you:
• Have strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good knowledge of the spatial manipulation tools within the ArcGIS system and software development skills e.g. python
• Experience of Microsoft Excel/ SQL or other statistical packages
• Are planned and organised and good at multi-tasking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An ability to learn quickly and to accurately follow agreed processes and procedures with minimal assistance
• Have a degree in a relevant field and related work experience, or have gained equivalent experience wholly within the workplace
• All our positions require successful candidates to pass a security clearance
