Systems Engineer

Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Engineer in support of the STRATCOM IT Lifecycle Support (SCITLS).

 

This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE

Responsibilities

• Responsible for engineering and deployment of the Rogue Blue SWF infrastructure layer (Server Infra, Network Devices, Storage Devices, VM-Ware Layer) across 3 classification levels.
• Build and maintain infrastructure in support of converged, hyper-converged infrastructure to include storage, networking, and virtualization.
• Enable the rapid provisioning and deployment of standardized operating environments (e.g., virtual server and virtual network appliance assets) onto the network with automation.
• Compare existing designs of similar infrastructures and makes formal recommendations to make the infrastructure equivalent.
• Determine and document the technical feasibility of designing, developing, engineering, and implementing capabilities to satisfy new requirements.
• Provide expertise in the advanced use of tools and technologies and how to integrate them into existing products and processes.
• Perform technical support for software development programs while supervising and overseeing junior personnel.
• Provide support to and work with design and development teams, including their leadership, and monitor progress and productivity through the use of metrics.
• Apply advanced knowledge of modern IT architecture and development operations (DevOps) processes, including object-oriented development/tools for application development
• Perform translation of operational requirements into detailed software/system requirements
• Integrate COTS products into software/system architectures

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess TS w/SCI EligibilityCertifications: Security+ or equivalent IAM IIEducation: High School DiplomaYears of Experience: 8 years experience in software development, systems engineering, devops or other relevant technical field to include:

• knowledge of modern IT architecture and development operations (DevOps) processes, including object-oriented development/tools
• Translation of operational requirements into detailed software/system requirements
• Integration of COTS products into software/system architectures
