Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $30.00-$33.00 (Per Hour) with additional bonus potential (*if position is bonus eligible)
Job Responsibilities
- Works with Food Safety and Quality Manager to direct and coordinate Quality Tech I and temporary staff daily functions to ensure the facility's priorities and quality department are being met.
- Serve as a resource for employees to troubleshoot quality issues and provide necessary information to make disposition decisions for the held products.
- Able to generate new PMC# (1A) or PMC# update sheets.
- Generates PMC parameter sheets for management approval and inclusion into quality system documentation.
- Teams with other departments as needed to communicate changes in product and/or raw materials, holds, return shipments, waste, etc.
- Audits plant operations for conformance with QA standards.
- Reports and acts upon any deviations noted during the audit process.
- Reports any food safety, housekeeping and sanitation issues noted during regular audits, to the Food Safety and Quality Manager.
- Supervises quality hold program, including inventory disposition.
- Provides detailed inspection and testing of daily production product samples (as needed).
- Ensures quality of raw materials and additives through inspection and test procedures.
- Maintains all required records as outlined in SOP.
- Supervises aspects of HACCP as set forth by Food Safety and Quality Manager.
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are adhered to.
- Assists Food Safety and Quality Manager in maintaining all aspects of Microbiological Program as outlined in SOP.
- Prepares finished product Certificates of Analysis (COA) as needed. Review and compile incoming material COAs.
- Assists Food Safety and Quality Manager in Mock Recall (data retrieval)
- Provides related training for department staff and plant employees.
- Audits all production and operator records for quality issues and conformance to reporting standards.
- Performs routine audits to verify the calibration of equipment including metal detectors.
- Fill in for technicians as needed.
- Communicates with Food Safety and Quality Manager on special projects as assigned.
- Attends daily shift change meetings.
- Monitors all Lines to ensure proper materials are being used.
- Performs inspections on finished product prior to shipment.
- Assists with the Pest Control program.
- Ensures all quality and sanitation checks are carried out to prevent production/shipment of substandard product and that finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Reviews and scores previous day’s paperwork reporting issues to appropriate department manager.
- Performs required calculations to complete additive reconciliations and weight control summaries.
- Reviews retained samples.
- Conducts raw material moistures and granulation.
- Able to complete all information required in weekly quality report.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Must have the ability to investigate/research information, analyze for accuracy and include appropriately into quality system procedures, parameter sheets and documents. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
