Job Description

AECOM Enterprise Capabilities Romania is looking for a Data Validation Chemist based in Romania. 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate chemical data packages in accordance with United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) guidance to ensure compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data
  • Upload laboratory analytical data to a specific client and regulatory databases
  • Manage data in relational database systems like Earthsoft EQuIS or Microsoft Access
  • Manipulate electronic data deliverables to create report-ready tables and visualizations
  • Participate in the development of new data management workflows and automated tools
  • Prepare technical memoranda and white papers to be included in client deliverables
  • Develop new data management workflows and automated tools
  • Task management: Assign and manage workloads of chemistry staff
  • Use analytical data to determine forensic source area characterization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related discipline
  • 4+ years of relevant experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
  • Experience with data validation 
  • Experience with reporting writing (writing up results, documentation of professional judgement that they had to use to problem solve an issue, etc.)
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting chromatograms 
  • Experience delegating work and mentoring junior staff
  • Experience using relational databases such as EQuIS or Microsoft Access
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to organize data in an efficient and clear manner
  • Strong attention to detail
