Delivers care under the direction of a physician and functions as an integral member of the Orthopaedic Clinic patient care team. The trainer works closely with the supervising physician by assisting in maintaining clinic flow, patient education, and assisting with office procedures. The athletic trainer is also responsible for carrying out other clinic duties and clerical responsibilities as detailed below, supporting clinic operations and delivering high-quality, safe, patient-centered care in collaboration with a supervising physician and the clinical care team.

We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our dynamic Sports Medicine team at our Nashville West location. This role plays a critical part in supporting Sports Medicine physicians by ensuring efficient patient flow, delivering high-quality clinical care, and providing exceptional patient education. Key Responsibilities

As an Athletic Trainer, you will provide comprehensive clinical and administrative support to Sports Medicine providers, including:

  • Educating patients on injury prevention, risks associated with sports participation, and activity modification using effective communication strategies

  • Performing assessments of injury, illness, or conditions and sharing findings with the supervising physician in accordance with accepted clinical protocols

  • Administering therapeutic, conditioning, and rehabilitation exercises to promote recovery, function, and performance

  • Educating patients on treatment plans, rehabilitation programs, and reconditioning strategies to support safe return to activity

  • Completing patient intake, documentation, and clinical preparation prior to physician evaluations

  • Assisting physicians with procedures such as joint aspirations/injections, wound care, and home exercise instruction as directed

  • Managing concussion protocols and ensuring compliance with established guidelines

  • Performing cast and splint application and removal, as well as DME fittings and instruction

  • Supporting efficient patient throughput and clinic flow

  • Performing additional duties within the athletic training scope of practice as directed by the physician
