Role / Qualifications:

• Seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Analyst to join the Financial Sponsors Coverage team
• The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience / exposure to investment & corporate banking and a defined interest in working directly with Private Equity clients
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, with an outstanding record of academic achievement
• Key Qualifications:

  • SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment

Responsibilities:

• Perform extensive financial/valuation analyses for leveraged finance, mergers, acquisitions and capital raising transactions. Utilize creative approaches to analyses that illustrate key concepts/messages across products and sectors
• Build advanced financial models to value potential and actual clients and/or industries, leveraging broad understanding of valuation and broad finance/accounting topics. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of multiple client sectors. Assimilate information to perform insightful analyses
• Lead due diligence, research, analysis and documentation of potential and live transactions. Anticipate potential deal issues and pass concerns through to team members in real time
• Actively participates in presentation development and hypothesis testing to highlight financial analysis and research results
• Develop, produce and deliver proposals and presentations to clients and prospects, which exhibit broad knowledge of IB product solutions and underlying components
• Support senior bankers in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with financial sponsors and their portfolio companies, including building and maintaining trackers & databases to help drive deal generation
• Actively participate in client meetings and drafting sessions
• Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete tasks more efficiently

Demonstrate an understanding of macro factors related to client industry, investment banking products and potential implications.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
