Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To meet the Customer expectations and requirements by managing the daily production activities. 

JOB DUTIES:

1. Supervise production team.
2. Provide 50% to 75% direct/billable time per day.
3. Assists with business activity in the areas of production, engineering, planning, sales, and product development to achieve operation efficiency and economy.
4. Provide training and development programs that enable employees to be effective in their current and future jobs.
5. Responsible for approving hours worked by direct reports per established procedures.
6. Ensure production personnel are allocated in an efficient and productive manner.
7. Ensure the production team has updated documents such as work instructions, as needed.
8. Leverage manufacturing resources to resolve production issues.
9. Responsible for first piece, lot and final approval before shipping.
10. Support CSR and Production Coordinator in coordinating delivery schedules.
11. Ensure the production schedule is followed.
12. Assist with quote preparation as needed.
13. Conduct job responsibilities within the established accounting internal controls (i.e. labor ticket and VTA approvals, receiving/inventory control).
14. Implement solutions to increase manufacturing efficiencies (i.e. Preventative Action and Opportunity Drive).
15. Apply 80/20 and the ITW toolbox.
16. Meets safety and good 5S practices.
17. Follow all quality procedures and achieve line of sight requirements.
18. Promote continuous improvement within the department.
19. Able to work within a team.
20. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of a two-year technical degree in related field or three to five years of related experience.
• Manufacturing processes experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong and effective human relations skills.
• Good leadership and coaching skills.
• Ability to review employee performance in a positive manner that develops employees.
• Latest CAD software experience preferred.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to use personal computers and various software packages (spreadsheets, word processor, etc.).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Regular and consistent attendance

• Can articulate technical details regarding design issues and scheduling issues.
• Good communication skills
• Travel to customers and vendor sites
• Supervise production employees
