Job Description
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To meet the Customer expectations and requirements by managing the daily production activities.
JOB DUTIES:
- Supervise production team.
- Provide 50% to 75% direct/billable time per day.
- Assists with business activity in the areas of production, engineering, planning, sales, and product development to achieve operation efficiency and economy.
- Provide training and development programs that enable employees to be effective in their current and future jobs.
- Responsible for approving hours worked by direct reports per established procedures.
- Ensure production personnel are allocated in an efficient and productive manner.
- Ensure the production team has updated documents such as work instructions, as needed.
- Leverage manufacturing resources to resolve production issues.
- Responsible for first piece, lot and final approval before shipping.
- Support CSR and Production Coordinator in coordinating delivery schedules.
- Ensure the production schedule is followed.
- Assist with quote preparation as needed.
- Conduct job responsibilities within the established accounting internal controls (i.e. labor ticket and VTA approvals, receiving/inventory control).
- Implement solutions to increase manufacturing efficiencies (i.e. Preventative Action and Opportunity Drive).
- Apply 80/20 and the ITW toolbox.
- Meets safety and good 5S practices.
- Follow all quality procedures and achieve line of sight requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement within the department.
- Able to work within a team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a two-year technical degree in related field or three to five years of related experience.
- Manufacturing processes experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong and effective human relations skills.
- Good leadership and coaching skills.
- Ability to review employee performance in a positive manner that develops employees.
- Latest CAD software experience preferred.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to use personal computers and various software packages (spreadsheets, word processor, etc.).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Regular and consistent attendance

- Can articulate technical details regarding design issues and scheduling issues.
- Good communication skills
- Travel to customers and vendor sites
