Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently seeking to add a Senior Environmental Consultant and Siting Regional Lead to join our team in a client-facing role supporting growth in the Gulf Coast Region with a focus on the power industry. The individual in this position will help grow our power practice in the Gulf Coast Region and work with client account managers to expand our services.

The Siting Regional Lead is a senior technical and strategic role with expertise in routing, siting, and licensing within their designated region. This individual plays a critical role in project execution and regional growth of the siting team, leveraging strong relationships with Client Project Managers and collaborating closely with Stantec Account Managers to expand the Routing and Siting practice.

The Siting Regional Lead is responsible for building and managing high-performing project teams, working with the Siting and GIS Siting Technical leads to successfully deliver routing and siting projects within the region. In addition to regional responsibilities, they also lead projects for clients nationwide, applying their technical knowledge and leadership skills across geographies.

The Siting Regional Lead may also serve as a Project Manager or Siting Lead on projects, providing hands-on technical input, guidance and oversight to deliver quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.

The Siting Regional Lead may also provide Expert Testimony and serve as a Subject Matter Expert. 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Stantec’s market profile and position as it relates to power services within the US Gulf Coast operating region. You will also oversee and direct projects and project teams in a variety of sectors and markets throughout the complete life cycle of projects, beginning in the opportunity identification and pursuit phase.

As a senior consultant, you will leverage your technical skills, industry and market knowledge, and client and partner relationships to win and deliver projects to grow the discipline along with other business developers and leadership. 

Your Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Engage directly in identifying, pursuing, and winning projects; lead and participate in proposal preparation.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Stantec’s market position with clients, approval agencies, and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider through coordination with Stantec’s marketing team, regional sector leadership, and local technical staff.
  • Engage and develop relationships with key industry partners that can help advance Stantec’s position in the marketplace.
  • Participate in select, high value conferences and seminars and represent Stantec in business, community, and social situations to advance the Stantec brand and maximize exposure of Stantec’s subject matter experts.
  • Create and maintain internal relationships across Stantec’s practices and geographies to promote cross-selling of services.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of current and future market and business conditions, revenue and profit potential, and major clients and competitors within the Gulf Region markets with a focus on Florida.

Project Delivery

  • This position will support project management and provide technical support for environmental surveying, reporting, and permitting services with a focus on power sector clients in Florida and Gulf Coast Region.
  • Collaborate with and manage/supervise a community of staff across various sectors, including but not limited to federal, state, and local clients, power, municipalities, and other industrial clients.
  • Identify project-specific environmental design and regulatory requirements for power projects according to the Client’s risk management profile, industry precedents, existing guidance, regulations, best practices, and lessons learned, and use that information to inform smart permitting strategy.
  • Establish project objectives and procedures and lead teams on proposals, planning studies, designs, due diligence and permitting projects.
  • Possess strong business awareness and acumen and maintain a strong understanding of project management fundamentals: project scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
