553782 Accounting Technician II, Accounting Coordinator, Salary Range: $4,037 - $5,881 Hiring Range: $4,037 . This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, 12-month pay plan permanent position with a one-year probationary period in the Accounting Department.

Position Summary:

This position provides journey-level accounting and technical support for campus and auxiliary financial operations, including fund setup and maintenance, reconciliations, cash and banking support, asset management assistance, and general accounting duties requiring initiative, judgment, and a thorough knowledge of financial record-keeping practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting Support

•Provide entry-level accounting support to campus and auxiliary operations by applying established accounting methods, procedures, and CSU policies.

•Review financial documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; prepare correcting and adjusting entries as needed.

•Perform account and fund reconciliations, analyze variances, research discrepancies, and compile data to support accurate financial reporting.

•Assist with period-end and year-end activities, including gathering data, preparing supporting documentation, and resolving outstanding financial items.

 

Treasury & Asset Support

•Provide banking and cash management support, including researching and resolving variances (e.g., wires, ACH, credit card settlements), monitoring daily bank activity, and coordinating with departments on missing or unidentified deposits.

•Provide support for asset management functions, including data entry, reviewing asset transactions, tracking equipment purchases, and preparing related documentation.

•Assist with annual inventory activities, data cleanup, and system updates.

 

Chartfield Setup & Maintenance

•Process and maintain new fund, program, project, and chartfield setups in the financial system.

•Ensure configurations follow CSU and campus accounting requirements and provide appropriate documentation.

•Collaborate with Accounting, Budget, and Auxiliary partners to validate requests and resolve discrepancies

Assist with External & Internal Audits

•Support audit activities by gathering documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of requested information.
